Since 1971, Starbucks has been internationally recognized for serving up the best hot and cold drinks on earth. From coffee to lemonade, few people don't like their drinks. The problem with all of this is that by consuming so much of it, our bank account is melting away. Personally, I'm an iced coffee lover, I drink between 1 and 3 EVERY day (I think I've become addicted). To solve this problem, I wondered if it would be possible to make the same iced coffees as Starbucks but at home. Apparently, it is! I explain it all in this article!
What is the secret behind Starbucks iced coffee?
Trying to find a solution, I first did some research to try to find out what their famous secret was to serving us such good iced coffees every day and I came to the following conclusion:
There isn't one.
Whatever they use to make your iced coffee, you have it at home. Seriously!
In reality, what Starbucks has more than you is a logo and employees, the rest you have access to but you just don't know it yet. What if we told you how to make EXACTLY the same iced coffee from the comfort of your own kitchen, would that interest you? If so, you're in the right place!
But what are Starbucks secret ingredients?
Hang on, you're not ready...
- Iced cubes.
- Ground coffee.
- Iced coffee maker.
That's all you need.
Actually, that's not true, if you really want your coffee to taste like Starbucks, you'll have to add some flavor sprays and maybe some cream, but that's up to you to decide.
Now that you have the ingredients, how do you actually make it?
How to make the same iced coffee as at Starbucks?
To make it, I use my favorite iced coffee machine (pssst it's also the best on the market) the Go Iced Classic™ from Go Iced. I have tried other machines in the past, but I found that the coffee was too dissolved in the water and my iced coffee tasted like water. Since I got my Go Iced Classic, it has really changed my life and my bank account. I'm all set, so here are the steps!
- Fill up the cup with ice cubes to the edge
- Fill up the water tank of your Go Iced Classic™
- Fill up the reusable cup with your favorite ground coffee
- Select the size and press "Start"
- Mix and enjoy!
It's simple, but now you have one of the most important steps left...
Customize your iced coffee like Starbucks!
Now you have your iced coffee in hand, but you feel like you're missing something... I felt the same way BUT that's okay, you're at the most important part of the process, the customization!
If you like your iced coffee sweet, you can add 1 or 2 (or 3 or 4 or 5) squirts of Torani sugar syrup to add a nice sweet taste.
If you like your iced coffee sweeter, you can just add it to the cream. It's up to you to test the perfect dosage for your taste buds!
If you like your iced coffee very gourmand, you can add caramel, chocolate, or whipped cream (or why not all three at the same time)
You're now ready to make your Starbuck iced coffee!
By making your own iced coffees at home, you become your own personal barista! You'll know exactly what you're putting in it, and you'll be able to measure it in the best way possible. On top of that, you'll save money faster than you can imagine. Personally, I made a note on my iPhone and I calculate my savings from week to week, I love seeing the evolution!
With this money, I was able to treat myself to other things! Whether it's new makeup, clothes, or a trip, you'll thank yourself for having made the decision to make your iced coffee at home, believe me!
